The event brought the maritime community together

The Klaipėda Science and Technology Park, in collaboration with the Lithuanian Maritime Cluster, brought together the maritime community aboard the sailing ship-restaurant Meridianas for an exclusive tasting event. During the event, guests had the opportunity to taste white-legged pale #shrimp raised at the Klaipėda Science and Technology Park’s experimental aquaculture facility. The professional kitchen team at the Meridianas restaurant ensured that the results of this scientific experiment became an exceptional gastronomic experience. The chefs prepared the shrimp in three different ways—ranging from a refreshing shrimp ceviche to pan-seared shrimp with a wide variety of spices, herbs, and unexpected flavor combinations.

Each dish required not only creativity but also great skill, subtly revealing the flavor, texture, and uniqueness of the main ingredient.

Shrimp farming in Klaipėda is the result of the international #ProRMAS project. The project develops innovative and sustainable aquaculture solutions that combine science, the circular economy, and the blue economy. This scientific experiment is being conducted in collaboration with researchers from the Alfred Wegener Research Institute and the University of Padua.
