Name-giving celebration

This year DFDS Seaways has added 2 new ferries to its fleet – Aura Seaways and Luna Seaways. Yesterday, Luna Seaways was officially named Luna Seaways and christened by the President of Lithuania Her Excellency Dalia Grybauskaitė.

The new Aura Seaways and Luna Seaways are modern combined cargo and passenger ferries from DFDS, one of the largest vessels in the region. In addition, both ferries meet DFDS’ sustainability targets for reducing CO2 emissions.

For almost 30 years, the Danish company DFDS has been the largest maritime transport company in Lithuania, connecting Lithuania with the Baltic Sea countries. DFDS is one of the largest investors in Lithuania’s transport and logistics sector. The company’s 10 ferries fly the Lithuanian flag and employ around 800 Lithuanian seafarers, transporting passengers and cargo from Klaipeda to Germany, Sweden, and Denmark.
