A postage stamp with a nautical theme is issued

On 22 July, Lithuanian Post issued a stamp designed by Natalia Vaišnorienė for the navy ship “Sūduvis”. The stamp has a denomination of 0,65 EUR, mintage – 25 thousand units. The M52 “Sūduvis” was handed over to the Lithuanian Navy in 1999. It was donated by Germany, where she was christened M1071 “Koblenz” and has been in service since 1958.
In 2021, the ship retired from service and was handed over to the Lithuanian Maritime Museum. This is the second stamp on the theme of Lithuanian maritime history. Last year, Lithuania Post issued a stamp in memory of the first merchant ship “Jūratė”.
