The Shipping market faces a severe shortage of stewards: Klaipeda is gonna start over their training

The Paul Lindenau Training Centre in Klaipėda will start training stewards for passenger service this autumn. According to representatives of shipping companies, there is currently a severe shortage of stevedores.

“The shipping market is experiencing strong demand for both seafarers and passenger service workers. We have expressed the need for stewards on board our ships to the school long before and I think this contributed to the decision to develop a training program for this specialty,” said Mindaugas Alekna, Head of Crew Management for the Baltic States at DFDS.
