Anniversary of the Klaipeda port authority was commemorated
“Klaipeda Seaport has been and will always remain Lithuania’s gateway to the world. It is impossible to overestimate its significance for the economy, security, environment, and prosperity of our country. It is the main transport and logistics hub of the country” said Jaroslav Neverovičius, Chief Adviser to the President of the Republic of Lithuania.” On Friday, July 16, Klaipeda Port Authority celebrated its 30th anniversary. During the event, Juozas Liepuonius, the Chairman of the Lithuanian Sea Captains’ Association, was awarded the Liudvikas Stulpinas Medal for the promotion of Lithuania as a maritime state in the world and for his long-term and impeccable work – Ms. Rima Mickienė, deputy director of the Lithuanian Maritime Academy, was awarded the medal of the Maritime Transport Worker, as well as Mr. Antanas Kekys, head of the technical department of the stevedoring company “Bega”, Mr. Gintautas Kutka, executive director of the Lithuanian Shipowners’ Association, and Mr. Vidmantas Paukštė, infrastructure director of Klaipeda State Seaport Authority. “I consider this award not my own, but the Association’s evaluation. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the Merchant fleet and the 22nd year of the Association. I thank sincerely all colleagues for evaluation of our work” – Gintautas Kutka emphasized.
