Scholarships for engineering students

For the second year in a row, three higher education institutions – Klaipėda University, Vilnius TECH Lithuanian Maritime Academy, and Klaipėda State College – received support for scholarships from KN Energies, a member of the Lithuanian Shipowners Association. In accordance with the established procedure, the scholarships are awarded by the higher education institutions that organize engineering study programs. Students who choose to study engineering will receive monthly scholarships of €300 for 10 months during the 2025–2026 academic year. A total of almost €50,000 has been allocated for these scholarships.

Klaipėda State College has already selected the five most promising students from the Electrical and Automation Engineering and Mechanical Engineering study programs, who will receive scholarships for the entire academic year. The Lithuanian Maritime Academy has awarded scholarships to two second-year students of the Ship Power Plant Operation study program and three second-year students of the Ship Electrical Equipment Operation study program. Klaipėda University will soon select students who have achieved the highest academic results in the Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering study programs.

In order to strengthen the teaching of marine energy specialists, the Lithuanian Maritime Academy has created a new study program for marine wind turbine technicians. Seven students enrolled in the Offshore Wind Farm Engineering study program have been awarded scholarships from the Ignitis Group, providing a significant boost to young professionals.
