The ferry was flagged by the Lithuanian flag and deployed in the North Sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In response to freight trends, the company is renewing its fleet. The company sold the smaller ro-ro vessel &#8220;Gothia Seaways&#8221; and acquired a larger vessel &#8220;Meleq&#8221;, which was renamed &#8220;Acacia Seaways.&#8221; The newly purchased ferry is 210 m. length, it can accommodate up to 262 trailers. &#8220;Acacia Seaways&#8221; belongs to the same class of ships as the other ferries of the Lithuanian DFDS Seaways fleet operated by DFDS: &#8220;Gardenia Seaways&#8221; and &#8220;Tulipa Seaways&#8221;, built at the Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft shipyard in Germany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ship will be serviced by 2 crews, each with 24 seamen. The company emphasizes that the transaction has created an additional 18 new jobs.
